Sharon Murdoch  

Stuff cartoonist Sharon Murdoch is New Zealand’s first regular female political cartoonist. She came to cartooning late, but quickly made up for lost time, winning Cartoonist of the Year in 2016, 2017 and 2018.

Sharon created the popular Munro cat cartoon, illustrated How To Walk A Dog and has published two collections of her cartoons.

Sharon Murdoch started cartooning in her 50s and in a few short years became the first woman to regularly draw political cartoons for a daily newspaper in New Zealand.

She discusses her life, her award-winning work and her drive to draw attention to social justice - and the joy of drawing cats and dogs.
